Marie Stopes Tanzania is part of Marie Stopes International, a global partnership of sexual and reproductive healthcare organization, established in 1989.

Our friendly, experienced and supportive team of clinical experts help women and men lead happier, healthier sexual lives. We are Tanzania’s largest specialists in family planning, comprehensive post abortion care and reproductive health service provision. We also work to improve access to contraception to people in all the regions of the country, especially the underserved and marginalized.

Marie Stopes Tanzania is Tanzania's largest specialized sexual reproductive health and family planning organization, established in 1989.

We provide a range of reproductive health services including:

Marie Stopes Tanzania also empowers youth and adolescents by engaging them in youth friendly communication and activities, designed to educate and inform about sexual reproductive health.

Our focus is to deliver services predominantly in hard-to-reach rural locations and urban slums through our clinical outreach teams.

We provide 30% of the modern method contraceptives used by women in Tanzania, and approximately 70% of the long acting and permanent (LAPM) methods.

Our core promise is to ensure that 70% of contraceptive users reached by Marie Stopes Tanzania are those living in poverty, to ensure we are helping those with the greatest need.
