Pregnancy testing
A test to check whether you’re pregnant

If you’ve had unprotected sex or your contraception has failed, you could be pregnant. Our pregnancy testing service will help you know for certain.
Various home pregnancy tests have different levels of sensitivity. So, if you’re unsure about being pregnant – even if you took a test and it’s negative – it’s a good idea to talk to us.
You might have already noticed some early signs of pregnancy, such as:
- A delayed or missed period
- Breast swelling or tenderness
- Nausea and vomiting
- Needing to wee more often
- Spotting and cramping
- Change in appetite
- Feeling tired
If you’re experiencing any of these symptoms and you’re worried, contact us. You can get tested at any MSI Tanzania clinic, and if you are pregnant, we can guide you through your decisions.

Frequently asked questions about pregnancy tests
The result will either be:
Negative: You’re not pregnant. If your test is negative, but your period is late or you have pregnancy symptoms, you need to repeat the test after a week.
Positive: You’re pregnant. We can help you reach a decision by explaining your choices, but in the end you must decide what you want.
Bear in mind that you cannot do a reliable pregnancy test until 2-3 weeks after the time when you may have become pregnant.
If you’ve had a positive pregnancy test, you may be feeling confused, shocked and scared.
It’s important to face what’s happening and seek advice as soon as possible, so you can make the right decision for you.
If you’re not sure about continuing with the pregnancy, you can discuss this with us confidentially. Send our team a private WhatsApp message on 0755 896 996.
